Kinetikos applies ESA’s space technology to the diagnosis of motor disorders

In a groundbreaking approach to the diagnosis of devastating motor disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, Kinetikos has initiated a tight collaboration with ESA’s Business Incubation Centre (ESA BIC) to implement their revolutionary space technology in the development of an even more efficient movement analysis software.

Kinetikos is benefiting from comprehensive business and technical strategy support in bringing together approaches seen otherwise as an unusual mix — movement disorder diagnosis software and space technology — to improve current paradigms in digital healthcare.

By being a part of the ESA BIC program, Kinetikos is pursuing its mission of improving motor disorder diagnosis and treatment. It is bringing innovative and unbiased analyses of motor behaviour data to clinical practice, refining 90% of the treatments whose clinicians use Kinetikos’ reports — a comprehensive merger of clinical insights made possible by artificial intelligence and accurate biomechanical models, received by clinicians within three minutes after submitting their patient’s movement data. Kinetikos work is now improved even further using the space technology of ESA.

By the end of 2018, ESA BIC had already initiated programs in 15 European countries, supporting 140 startups and fostering the creation of thousands of new jobs while boosting regional economies through innovation and entrepreneurship.
